WHAT WE BELIEVE
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Our beliefs are grounded in God’s Word and centered on Jesus Christ. Inwood Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and cooperate with our local Baptist association in Florida.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power, holiness, and glory.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man.
He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and will return again.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
Salvation is a gift from God, not earned by works, and is available to all who repent and place their trust in Christ.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, and lives within every Christian to guide, comfort, and empower them to live godly lives.
The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, share the Gospel, make disciples, and serve others in love.
Baptism & the Lord’s Supper
We believe in two ordinances:
-
Baptism by immersion for believers as a public testimony of faith
-
The Lord’s Supper as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s death and resurrection
The Family
We believe God designed the family as the foundation of society.
Marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, and children are a blessing from the Lord.
Missions
We believe every believer is called to share the Gospel.
We support local, national, and international missions, including cooperative missions through the Southern Baptist Convention.
Religious Liberty
We believe in religious freedom for all people and affirm the freedom of the church to follow biblical convictions without government interference.
Our Statement of Faith
Inwood Baptist Church affirms the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) as a summary of our doctrinal beliefs.
